Miss Mayhem

I got locked out of our apartment this past week. It happened, and I didn't see it coming; actually I didn't even know Sailor knew how to lock our door. Yep, that's right- Miss Sailor locked her momma out while Seryn and herself played inside. 

I was on the phone with my mom, Seryn was crawling around my feet-bawling dramatically, Sailor running around in her underwear because she kept refusing to get her clothes on, and all the while I am STRAINING to understand a word my mom is speaking to me.  As expected I stepped out of the house and held the door tight so Sailor couldn't follow me out. FINALLY I can hear!  A few moments go by and I hear the heavy clank of the lock...."weird, I think Sailor just locked me out of the house." My mom laughs and we preceded to chat. I am standing at the door patiently waiting for her to unlock it....5 minutes go by.....still locked.  I finally tell my mom I need to go to figure out how to get back inside.  Luckily I had just opened the blinds to the house so I can see inside but have to run around the apartment to do so.  I can't see Seryn or Sailor at this point.  I yell inside and Sailor sneaks out of the closet and is playing a game with me.  After asking her where Seryn is, she points in the kitchen (where I have no visual of) and tells me she is playing. I start and continue to bribe her to unlock, but she continues to yell "no" and giggles as she hides back into the closet. To make a longer story short:

....friend walks by and agrees to go get a key from the office...
...she comes back and I unlock it, but realize that Sailor locked our security lock also....
.....I call the office to ask how I can get into my apartment if all the windows and doors are bolted locked....
...answer:maintenance workers will have to come drill the door down and charge $25...
...more bribing and bribing and bribing...
...maintenance works come and RIGHT as they get the drill to the door Sailor FINALLY (after 30 mins) agrees to unlock the door in exchange for ice cream...

My Seryn was saved and didn't choke on the bijillion little toys Sailor had spread across the floor (my greatest worry as I was a prisoner from my house)

Sailor: got dressed and continued to congratulate herself for unlocking the door

Mom: happy to not have to pay $25, but still owes Sailor ice cream (luckily she quickly forgot about it)
