This is a picture of Seryn playing in a box of corn kernels. It was a hit....with Sailor. Seryn was weirded out by it and wanted out fast, but we had to pry Sailor out. Such a fun clean alternative to a sand box.
Lacking enthusiasm here, this expression is in no way a representation of her actual mood. For instance, as we are walking up to the entrance gate she said, "Mom, this is going to be so fun. So fun, huh?"
Seryn loved these chicks. She expressed her excitement with high pitched squeals. Anything little and soft she would squeeze hard out of pure excitement.....bring a kitten near and she would be in heaven!
Sailor and this train........it's so fun as a parent to see your child purely enjoying the simple things in life. She spotted it when we first entered the gates and asked if she could. The last few train rides one of us had to be there with her, not the same situation this time. It was the first time in a while I realize that my baby is clearly growing up- becoming independent!
Kindergarten, stay away from my child!!
Seryn was so fun this particular evening, maybe because it was the first time in months she'd stand or sit still for longer than half a second so I could snap a shot of her. But she was extra fun when she was sliding down a fun tunnel slide they had available. It was dark outside by that time and when she started down the dark tunnel she sat up with a frightened look plastered on her face all the way down. As she got closer to the bottom she would hold her mouth in a "o" shape and breathing in and out. She was afraid EVERY time but when we would ask if she wanted to go again she'd nod her head a BIG yes.
Now, we are days away from all the Halloween festivities. Over the past few weeks I've been slowly getting the costumes together. We are attempting a "Nightmare before Christmas" theme: Sailor will be Sally, obviously. Chase will be Jack Skellington or a man in a black suit attempting to look tall, slender, skeleton-like. Seryn will be a black cat (she makes cats look good), and I a witch (go figure :) ). Our family loves to dress up each year, so we try to make do with what we have and so far it's been pretty successful. Can't wait to take the girls to all the fun events within the next week!
Happy Halloween Everyone!
